4th March, 2008
Over 100 friends of the China Carbon Forum made their way up to the 28th floor of the China Resources Building, in the function room of the Beijing American Club (北京美洲俱ä¹éƒ¨), grand in both décor and setting, for this event.
‘Bali and Beyond’ introduced pertinent issues into the carbon arena and presented the opportunity to ask questions to influential players in the sector. Very compelling and thought-provoking speeches were made by some outstanding speakers (including a member of the Chinese official delegation to the Bali negotiations and the Director of the World Resources Institute’s Climate and Energy Program). Professor Zou Ji (Member of China’s Government Advisory Panel on Climate Change) and John Shi (CEO of Arreon Carbon) both stressed in their speeches the need for industry and government policymakers to come closer together in a stronger dialogue on issues such as market uncertainties, technology, financing, and IPR, etc.
