The panel discussion involved a range of eminent speakers who provided comprehensive and in-depth discussion of green finance in China, as well as internationally. The panel in particular discussed the outcomes of two streams of work on green finance. The first, with a new report titled Greening China\u2019s Financial System, is a joint project between the Development Research Centre of China\u2019s State Council (DRC) and IISD. The second is from a joint Green Finance Task Force co-convened by the People\u2019s Bank of China (PBOC) and UNEP-Inquiry.<\/p>\n

Its primary aim is to identify the key organizations within and outside\u00a0China’s government responsible for shaping its climate policies. We focus on the\u00a0stakeholders, and how they engage with one another.<\/p>\n Download Report: Mapping China’s Climate Policy Formation Process <\/a><\/p>\n \u201cFinancing the green transition in China: opportunities for local government access to climate finance\u201d, was the latest in the China Low Carbon Leadership Network event series jointly organized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and China Carbon Forum (CCF).<\/p>\n It saw the launch of an important new report on opportunities for accessing climate finance by Chinese provincial governments, with a focus on Guangdong. The report is a collaborative project between GIZ and The Climate Group, titled \u2018Analysis of Climate Finance Policies and Innovative Finance Mechanisms in Guangdong – Policy Mapping and Case Studies\u2019.
